       Conclusion

One of the most obvious design features you should adhere to,  is to adopt a single "look and feel" for your site.  FP2000 calls this a "Theme", and provides you with a whole range of possibilities. Later you will learn how to create your own `theme´, but using the ones FrontPage supplies is a good way to start.

By now, you will have become extremely skilled at creating new pages in your web. So you should have no problem in producing the following site tree.

sixPages
When you have the site tree, go to Format/Themes and select from the list provided:

themes

Notice that even when you have selected a theme, there are lots of ways to modify it.  You could, for example, choose not to include the 'Background picture', or you could unselect 'Vivid colours' for a more muted effect.

For more dramatic changes to the theme, select the 'Modify' button:.

Experiment with all these options, until you find something that you like. You can then save this newly modified theme with a new name, so that you can use it again if you like. Finally, click OK.

When you have done this you will notice that the "Folders" window at the bottom of the screen is now populated with a few more bits and pieces.  Don´t concern yourself with this - FrontPage is just taking care of the housekeeping.

Now double-click on the Home page.  (This takes you "in" to the page, so you can edit its contents).

To find out what to do next, click on  sub-pages.
