The
"Confirmation page" tab is really important if you want your site to be user-friendly..
Think of it... Your visitor fills in your form, and clicks the "Submit
" button. Now what? You canīt just leave him/her there staring at the same screen - they will conclude that nothing has happened, and human nature being what it is, (s)he will click 'submit'
again and again, and you will receive a zillion forms in your mailbox the next morning.
It is customary to jump the visitor to a confirmation page, where you can say something
like: "Thanks for taking the time to fill out the form etc etc"
Of course, this page must already exist, otherwise you canīt nominate it as the
confirmation page. FrontPage 2000 supplies a ready-made confirmation page if you don't want to make your own. If you want something more special, though, you will have
to have created the page before you can nominate it in the Form Properties box. Just create a new page as normal, but without any navigation links, so that the only link is the `submitī button.
One warning, however...
Microsoft Front Page is out of step with the rest of the world, and insists on handling forms its own way. Unless the server you are publishing your page to has "Front Page Server Extensions" installed, your
form will not work.
