       Conclusion

forms3Each field has unique "properties" which determine how it functions, what text it displays, and so on.

Once you have placed all the form elements on your page (remembering, of course to add any instructions and other text which might be required), you will need to examine their properties.

Right click each element, and select "Form Field Properties" .  Beware -  "Alt-Enter" doesn´t always work - but try it as a shortcut (you may be lucky...). Each properties box is unique to the element it controls, and most of them are fairly self-explanatory. Below is what you see if you choose the view the form properties for Radio forms4Buttons.

Notice the `Group name´ property. This refers to the fact that with radio buttons (as opposed to check boxes) only one out of a group can be selected.

In order to create this effect, you need to tell each radio button to which group it belongs so that it will switch OFF all other radio buttons in the group if you click on it. Very convenient, and very neat.

The `value´ simply refers to the`answer´ that will be recorded if the radio button is selected.

"Initial state" refers to what you have selected by default on the form before the reader fills it in. In other words, unless the reader actually changes it, this is the answer that will be recorded.

Go to the next page to find out more about form properties and how to fill them in.
