Right.
So now you know all about themes and how to link pages by using the navigation bars that FrontPage automatically supplies for you when you create new pages in Explorer view.
There are other ways of linking pages, though, and it's a good idea to use a mixture of all the different kinds:
Text hyperlinks You can create text hyperlinks to other pages in your site, or to external websites. You do this simply by highlighting the relevant words, and then choosing Insert/Hyperlink from the menu bar. You will get a dialogue box that asks you where you would like to link to, and you can either type in a URL, or choose one of the pages already in your site from the list that you are offered.
Notice that in the dialogue box you also get the option of linking to a Bookmark. Just as in MSWord, you can identify any text on your page as
a bookmark, and then use it as a specific target for a link.
Image hyperlinks Besides just sitting there, a picture can also be used to link the reader to another page on your site, or even to another site altogether. To do so, select the image and go to Insert/Hyperlink, just as you did for text hyperlinks. OR, you could click on the Create hyperlink button on the standard FrontPage button bar (at the top of your screen).
This will call up the Hyperlink dialogue box, which you fill in exactly as for text
hyperlinks.
Hotspots If you want to identify a specific area
on an image as a link area, then you need to insert a hotspot. Click here to go to the page devoted to explaining how to create hotspots...
Remember to SAVE before you try to preview your links!
