ChalkSoft Education is a small software company based in Auckland, New Zealand.  It was started by teachers who were, to put it bluntly, tired of the garbage which paraded the Internet in the guise of "Educational Software". They were looking for real software to use productively in their classrooms on a daily basis.

Finding the Web thin pickings, they banded together, and began producing software for themselves.
