Adding text and graphics to slides is done in exactly the same way as you learned to do them in MS Publisher.
TEXT
- Select the TEXT tool, and drag a container area on your slide.
- Type your text
GRAPHICS
- Click on the 'Insert Clip Art' tool in the main toolbar at the top of your Powerpoint screen.
- Select the clipart.
- Powerpoint will insert the clipart in the centre of the slide. Simply reposition and resize to suit.
- If you want to insert a picture from a your own files, you have to do it the long way via Insert menu (Insert/picture/from file...
SHAPES
- Powerpoint has a rich collection of autoshapes. To see them, click on the 'Autoshapes' tool bar at the bottom of the Powerpoint screen
- From the shapes menu, select the one you want, and then drag an area for it on the slide.
- Shapes can be rotated in the same way as they can in Publisher.
- If you want to write in a shape, it's better to write directly onto the shape (click on the shape first) than to create a text box.
WORD ART
- This works in exactly the same way as it does in Publisher.
