Speaker notes are handy, because you can write notes for each slide, and PowerPoint will keep these notes with the slide, and allow you to print these out for you to use during your presentation.
To create Speaker Notes go to View/Notes page, or click on Notes Page View

You may also choose to photocopy these speaker notes and give them to your
audience at the conclusion of the talk.
To get several images on a page (for a handout) instead of just one, go to File/Print and then look in the "Print What" drop-down menu to choose the number of slides per page.
These are useful to ensure the audience can make effective notes during your presentation, but they donīt replace a written summary. Consider carefully what sort of documentation your audience will want: a reminder (speaker notes) of your talk, or a more comprehensive record.
